Flash Flood Closes Havasupai, 130 Tourists Evacuated

130 people were evacuated from the Havasupai after Sundays's flash flooding.

Scottsdale Arizona News has learned 130 people were evacuated on Sunday at around 3 PM from Havasupai Canyon. The Havasupai Tourism Office tells SAN the tourists were evacuated when it started raining.

At 3:50 pm Sunday, law enforcement reported a 2 foot wall of water moving down Hualapai Canyon towards the Village of Supai.

Havasupai Tribe officials tell us that visitor access is closed to Supai Indian Village, campground, and falls until at least next Sunday.

There are no reports of injuries.
