Flight Delays Due to Los Angeles International Airport Incident

Flights between Phoenix to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) are delayed at this time, according to Heather Lissner, public information officer for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Travelers are encouraged to check their flight status with their airline before coming to the airport. If you are picking up a passenger flying in from LAX, please check the flight status.

[Update: 3 PM MST] Some flights to LAX are now departing. Travelers are still encouraged to check with their airline for flight status. 14 flights from PHX to LAX were cancelled or delayed. Airlines affected included Delta, Southwest, United Airlines and US Airways. 10 flights headed to LAX were diverted to PHX. Airlines affected included American, Delta, Southwest, and US Airways.

From the start of the incident at around 9:30 AM PDT through 12 midnight PDT, 826 scheduled departure flights w/ estimated 99,200 passengers were impacted, according to information posted on the LAX official Twitter account.
