SPD Motorcycle Officer Injured In Loop 101 Freeway Crash

SPD is investigating a single vehicle motorcycle collision on the southbound Loop 101 south of Frank Lloyd Wright. The involved individual is an SPD motor officer. His injuries are not considered life threatening, according to Officer David Pubins, public information officer for the Scottsdale Police Department.

Southbound Loop 101 lanes are closed at Frank Lloyd Wright until 1:30 PM MST this afternoon.

[Update] According to a public safety news release, at 10:15 AM MST, a SPD motor officer accelerated in an attempt to stop a violator his motorcycle began to wobble out of control. The officer was ejected onto the roadway. The 5 year veteran officer suffered abrasions and a broken rib. He was transported to SHC Osborn where he was treated and then released.
