Water Rescue - Roosevelt St & 77th Street - Indian Bend Wash

Water rescue reported at Indian Bend Wash at East Roosevelt Street & North 77th Street in Scottsdale, AZ.

Units on scene include: Scottsdale Fire Department, Tempe FD, Mesa FD and Chandler FD are on scene.

[Update] Scottsdale FD officials tell us that approximately 25 firefighters from Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa and Chandler Fire Departments responded to a water rescue at about 3:15 AM.

An adult male was trapped in his vehicle with about 1 foot of water inside the passenger compartment. The vehicle was stuck in 3 feet of running water.

Technical rescue crews safely remove the man from his vehicle and fire department paramedics evaluated him medically. He did not require further treatment or transportation to the hospital.

The Scottsdale Fire Department would like to remind everyone that water is powerful and can be deceptively dangerous, especially at night. Running water a few inches deep can sweep a person or vehicle downstream. Don't drown, turn around.
