A water main break was reported in the median at just north of Scottsdale and McDonald Roads, police said. Northbound traffic is not affected at this time. Southbound Scottsdale Rd. traffic is being diverted at Lincoln.
Scottsdale police spokesman Dave Pubins said the southbound lanes of Scottsdale Rd. in the area of Lincoln will be shut for 7 to 10 hours and may run in to tomorrow morning's drive time.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
Update 7:00 a.m.: The water line has been repaired and the roadway was re-opened at 5:00 am.
