Mountain rescue reported in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve at 18333 N Thompson Peak Parkway in Scottsdale, AZ.

[Update 11:20 AM MST] SFD officials tell us that at 9:32 AM MST this morning Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Tempe fire departments were called to a mountain rescue on the Windgate Trail. A 55 year old female sustained injuries to her right ankle and was unable hike back to trailhead. The patient was assisted off the trail through the use of big wheel operations. She refused further treatment and transport after being re-evaluated.
The Scottsdale fire department reminds all hikers to prepare for every hike by bringing enough water and fully charge cell phone.
