House Resale Numbers Down for April, Median Prices Down

Jay Butler, director of Realty Studies in the Morrison School of Management and Agribusiness at Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus has just released the April 2008 Scottsdale real estate market update.

The Scottsdale resale home market declined from 400 to 330 recorded sales, with the median home sales price also decreasing from last year’s $557,500 to $506,500. The median resale home price is $563,000 ($605,000 in March) in the north part of the city and $266,500 ($260,000 in February) in the south. The townhouse/condominium sector decreased from 300 to 205 sales, while the median sales price decreased from last year’s $264,450 to $262,500.
