A City of Scottsdale photo radar van parked in the area of 14343 N. Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. The photo radar van driver was testing the cameras. The van had a sign in the rear of the vehicle to warn drivers that the flashing lights were only a test.

The city has used photo enforcement technology since 1996 to supplement police department efforts to reduce red-light running and speeding.

The city contracts with a vendor to operate photo radar cameras at nine fixed locations and in four mobile photo enforcement vans.
