The Central Arizona Project (CAP) is a 336 mile diversion canal in Arizona. The canal runs from Lake Havasu City to Tucson.

The entire length of the canal is fenced off. Posted signs say no trespassing, no fishing and no swimming.

According to the City of Scottsdale website, the city began using CAP water in 1987. The CAP Water is treated at the city's water campus.
