Grand Canyon Rangers Search for Missing Kansas Hikers

Grand Canyon National Park rangers are scouring the South Bass and Royal Arch areas west of the Hermits Rest area on the park’s south rim for two missing overdue hikers, Isaac Rabicoff and Michael Wu, both from Kansas.

Isaac Rabicoff, 25-years-old, is 6 feet tall, weighing between 140 pounds and 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He may be wearing glasses.

Michael Wu, 25-years-old, is 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing between 120 pounds and 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He may be wearing glasses.

The National Park Service says the pair obtained a backcountry permit to hike in the Royal Arch and South Bass areas beginning on March 16, 2010 and returning on March 20, 2010.

The park service says on March 22, 2010 a member of one of the men’s families reported the two men missing after they failed to return to Kansas as planned.

If you believe you have seen either Isaac Rabicoff or Michael Wu since March 15 or have information regarding their whereabouts, please contact the Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center at 928-638-7805.

[Update 3:01 MST: The park service says the two hikers have been found ok.]
