Bat Watching in Scottsdale

The Arizona Canal in Downtown Scottsdale is a great place for bat watching at dusk and just before dawn.

Directions to see the bats:
From Scottsdale Road and Camelback Road intersection, head south on west side of Scottsdale Road. The bicycle and pedestrian path is located on the north side of the Arizona Canal. Head southwest on the path.

Bat watching starts just after sunset each night (look for the bats flying by just above water level). Tip: Find a spot next to the canal curb that is near one of the sidewalk lights (just past the 1st hi rise building & the fountain).
