Mountain Rescue - 23015 North 128th Street - Tom's Thumb Trailhead

Mountain rescue reported at Tom's Thumb Trailhead at 23015 North 128th Street in Scottsdale, AZ.

Units responding, staged or on scene include: E45 E278 E608 E610 E614 P-314 C957S BC602 FRBD00 S45 S610 SCTP04.

[Update] Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Tempe fire departments are on scene. A 54 yr old male patient is located approximately 1.5 miles up the trail with a leg injury. The patient will be extracted from Tom Thumb via Phoenix Firebird 10 helicopter.

[Update] Patient was removed from the mountain by Phoenix and Scottsdale Fire Technical Rescue Teams. The patient was transported by PMT Ambulance to a local hospital.

Scottsdale Fire department wants to remind folks when out hiking to bring plenty if water, wear appropriate hiking shoes, wear a hat, bring a cell phone, hike with a buddy, and tell friends or family where you will be hiking and your expected time back
