Cause: Unknown.
Impacted area: Granite Reef & Roosevelt Street.
[Update: 3:27 PM MST] Power outage reported at the New Ventura retirement home facility at 980 N Granite Reef Road. SPD officials tell us that the outage has impacted 118 units. The incident has left those units without any power or air conditioning. Scottsdale Police and Fire Department staff are in the process of relocating residents to the Scottsdale Senior Center. The power outage is expected to last for several hours while repairs are made to facility. There have been no emergency health concerns reported.
[Update: 6:12 PM MST] Power has been restored to all units. All residents have returned to their homes.

Cause: An underground power line has failed. SRP crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible.
Impacted area: Loop 101 Freeway to Hayden Rd and McKellips Rd to McDowell Rd
