Scottsdale Trolley will begin a phased return to service starting Monday, Aug. 3, 2020. The first phase will include service from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays only on the 68th/Camelback (68CM), Miller/Hayden (MLHD) and the Mustang (MSTG) routes. Service on the Old Town (OLDT) route remains suspended until further notice.
The cost of the free trolley system is significant, and the city has worked to create a modified service plan to best accommodate the competing pressures of transit needs, health concerns and budget constraints.
The decision to hold off on service with the Old Town (OLDT) route was based on declining ridership that began prior to the suspension of trolley service due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Old Town can still be accessed via the 68th/Camelback (68CM) route with stops along Goldwater Boulevard between Indian School and Camelback roads and on Indian School Road between 68th Street and Goldwater Boulevard.

Additional regional service remains available on major streets through Valley Metro and Phoenix Transit. Cab Connection, RideShare and Paratransit are also available for qualified individuals throughout the city. Scottsdale Transportation is in the process of defining social distancing guidelines for trolley drivers and riders. The guidelines will be posted on the trolley website prior to resuming service on Aug. 3, according to Jennifer Banks, Public Information Officer with the City of Scottsdale.
