Stolen Ambulance - 79th Pl + Heatherbrae Ave, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Stolen ambulance (M601) reported at North 79th Place + East Heatherbrae Ave in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Scottsdale Police is on scene.

Suspect search perimeter is Hayden Road to Granite Reef and Indian School Rd to Camelback Road. Avoid the area. [Scottsdale Police Update: 10:57 AM MST] Wanted Suspect: Area Hayden and Indian School Rd. White male, heavy set, white or blue shirt, tattoos, khaki pants. He is wanted for aggravated assault. If you see anyone matching the description, call 9-1-1.

[Scottsdale Police Update: 1:32 PM MST] A Scottsdale Police Officer was hit today after a motorist was stopped and then intentionally reversed into the officer’s motorcycle. The initial incident was near Indian School Rd and Scottsdale Rd. The suspect vehicle, containing a male driver and female passenger, then fled the traffic stop. The suspects struck an uninvolved vehicle, near 75th Street and Indian School Rd and fled from this collision. Officers located the suspect vehicle and a brief pursuit ensued. The vehicle entered an apartment complex near 78th St and Camelback Rd and both suspects fled on foot. The vehicle was later recovered by police.

After a few minutes, we learned the suspects had stolen an ambulance from an unrelated medical incident in the area. The ambulance was abandoned and recovered in the area of 79th St and Heatherbrae. The suspects were last seen by witnesses running into the neighborhood. The female suspect was apprehended by police a short while after.

The male suspect is still outstanding and wanted for Aggravated Assault on an Officer, Theft of an Emergency Vehicle and other charges. He is described as a white male, heavy build, dark colored shirt with a horizontal stripe, tan pants and tattoos (updated photo from today).

The officer sustained minor injuries. The hit and run victim was not injured.
