I started my solo trip down Paria Canyon from the White House Trailhead. I arrived midday on Wednesday and went to the White House BLM Ranger Station and picked up my hiking permit and the parking pass for my vehicle which I was going to leave at Lees Ferry.

I hired once again Betty Price of End of Trails Shuttle service to shuttle me from Lees Ferry to the White House Trailhead. The plan was to have her pick me up at 6 am on Thurday morning. She arrived 15 minutes early and we were off!

No problems. Weather was fine though mornings were cold. Water was cold. Unexpected heavy winds for 1 1/2 days. No ice in Paria River this visit.

Pace I think was 1.5 miles per hour.

Breakfast and tent, backpack packing started 2 hours each am before hiking start.

Hiking start times was 7:30 am on day one. Day two start time was 6 am 2 miles past confluence - hiking blind in the dark water with a full moon, headlamp, and hiking poles. Third morning started at 7 am.

My Grand Canyon hiking legs had to kick in high gear the last day of the hike!! Took some video it is on my YouTube channel. - interviewed Betty the Paria shuttle driver.

FYI - someone left a hiking shoe in the canyon with missing laces! I forgot to take note of the shoe size - oops. I did have a pair of hiking shoe laces on me too!
