Alaska: Mt Redoubt Volcano Eruption

Anchorage, Alaska residents are preparing for a possible eruption of Mount Redoubt. Reports are that the hardware stores are busy selling protective eyewear and mask before the possible eruption.

The latest Alaska Volcano Observatory Information statement says that unrest at Redoubt Volcano continues, though no eruption has yet occurred. Seismicity levels have risen within the last 8 hours. Redoubt remains at Aviation Color Code: Orange and Volcano Alert Level: Watch. (Update: 11:45 a.m. Arizona Time.)

The Alaska Volcano Observatory also state that the website has been overwhelmed with traffic this morning because of extensive national news coverage.
