Swine Flu Cancels Havasupai Opening

Scottsdale Arizona News -- The seven member Havasupai Tribal Council cancelled tomorrow's planned reopening of Havasupai's lodging, camping, mule rides, and helicopter trips, due to the swine flu epidemic. The Havasupai Tribe is closing Havasupai until June 1, 2009, according to Billy Jack, Supai Tourist Manager. No tribal members have the swine flu virus, say Billy.

Approximately 450 people live in Supai. Tribal-run enterprises include: a lodge, tourist office and café, according to the Havasupai Tribe website.
