Grand Canyon: Construction Supplies Transported By Helicopter - Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona (AZ)

Helicopters were busy today in the Grand Canyon!

Grand Canyon National Park spokeswoman Shannan Marcak says all of the helicopter flights carried various types of construction supplies (nearly 20,000 pounds worth) for the River Ranger Station, some roof and wall work on the barn and some supply for work Xanterra has going on.

The GC Park’s historic River Ranger Station, located along the Colorado River near Phantom Ranch, is getting a face lift.

A National Park Service maintenance, Coconino Rural Environment Corps (CREC) and graduates of Coconino County’s Youthbuild Program are working on the building. Park officials say that the project should be completed by mid summer.
