Hard Freeze Warning - November 25, 2010

The National Weather Service in Phoenix, AZ has issued a freeze warning in effect from 2 AM to 9 AM MST Friday.

Affected area: Northwest Pinal County and the cooler portions of the Phoenix metro area including Goodyear, Carefree, East Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Maricopa and Queen Creek.

The weather service says temperatures will drop to 32 degrees for several hours in the warned area with minimums between 25 and 30 degrees.

Impacts: Cold sensitive plants such as ornamentals will need to be protected. Exposed plumbing may be damaged. People should dress for the cold and pets may need adequate shelter.

Precationary/preparedness actions: A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will destroy or damage crops and other sensitive vegetation.
