Fines for feeding wildlife in City of Scottsdale parks take effect Friday, June 15, 2012

Park visitors who feed birds could be arrested, fined starting Friday, June 15, 2012.

The City of Scottsdale recently passed an ordinance [Ordinance 4016] prohibiting people from feeding wildlife at city parks. The violation is a class two misdemeanor and can carry a penalty ranging from a suspended sentence to four months in jail, $750 fine plus surcharges and up to two years probation.
