Mountain Rescue at Dynamite Blvd & Alma School Rd

Mountain rescue reported in the Scottsdale Mountain Preserve on the Tom's Thumb trail. Command post is at East Dynamite Blvd & North Alma School Rd in Scottsdale, AZ.

Units responding include: E608, E610, E614, PMT Ambulance (P-605), PMT Ambulance (P-615), C957N, C957S, DEPLOY, BC602, Phoenix Police "Firebird 10" helicopter (FRBD00), S610 and SCTP00.

[Update] SFD and PFD responded to the 911 call at 9:45 a.m. MST this morning. Fire officials tell us in an email that a 62 year old male suffered a possible stroke with secondary injuries sustained from a fall. GPS coordinates from a cell phone were used to locate the patient. The hiker was approximately 1 mile in from the Tom’s Thumb trail head. The patient was transported by Scottsdale Fire Department personnel to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn for further evaluation and treatment.
