Possible Explosive Device - 3700 N 75th Street - Scottsdale City Court

Scottsdale Police are currently investigating a possible explosive device at 3700 N 75th St. PIO is in route to the location. Media staging is at 75th Street and Indian School (just south), according to Kevin Watts with the Scottsdale Police Department.

[Update: 12:46 PM MST] At approximately 8:15 AM MST this morning, patrol officers observed a vehicle parked in the parking lot across from the Scottsdale City Court located at 3700 N 75th St. Officers observed suspicious items inside the vehicle. A certified explosives dog was called in and alerted on the vehicle. Out of an abundance of caution, the area was evacuated and the DPS Explosive Unit was called in. We are in are in the early stage of the investigation and will provide further updates as they become available, according to Sgt. Ben Hoster with Scottsdale PD.

[Update: 3:48 PM MST] The DPS Explosive Unit gained access into the vehicle and rendered it safe at 3:15 PM MST. Residents have been allowed to return home and streets have been re-opened. No explosive materials were found in the vehicle. The car is a decommissioned police patrol vehicle, which could possibly explain the presence of residual scents. The investigation is on-going at this time, according to Sgt. Ben Hoster with the Scottsdale Police Department.
