2020 Phoenix Open DUI Task Force

The Scottsdale Police Department and the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety in collaboration with the:
  • ASU Police Department
  • Chandler Police Department
  • Department of Public Safety
  • Gilbert Police Department
  • Mesa Police Department
  • Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office
  • Phoenix Police Department
  • Tempe Police Department
will be conducting DUI Task Forces January 29th through February 1st, 2020 for the Waste Management Open in north Scottsdale. The Department will also be conducting Know Your Limit details, from 1400 to 1800 (same dates as above), at the main exit for the Open (8100 E. Bell Rd).

The Know Your Limit campaign provides people with an actual reading of their alcohol consumption. In addition, the officer’s endeavor to provide education on the dangers of driving impaired, as well as the penalties should they be placed under arrest for driving impaired. In 2019, officers at the Open interacted with over 13,000 people.

The goal of the officers assigned to the Task Force is to contact those drivers that have made the disastrous decision to drive impaired and remove them from the roadway before they hurt themselves or others.

As always, the best choice someone can make, should they plan on consuming alcoholic beverages, is to find some other form of transportation that does not involve them operating a motor vehicle.

Please Drive Safely or find an alternate way home.
