Day hike started at 7am and hiked in the creek for 3 hours to a nice side canyon with some nice water falls. On the hike back I took the creek-side trails for a fast paced hike back and the return trip to the trailhead took 1 1/2 hours.
The creek water was nice and cool.
Saw two squirrels and one huge gila monster on the side trail!!!! The gila monster is a rare site in Arizona and it made my day seeing it in Aravaipa Canyon. No rattlesnakes sightings today!!!
Saw maybe a dozen day hikers today in the canyon.
