Paria Canyon - April 21, 2004

Started at Lee's Ferry at 2pm on Wednesday April 21st. The temperature was 82 degrees with 20 mph winds - not sure what the wind chill factor was!!! Was planning on starting at the White House Trailhead but there was a 20% chance of storms -yikes- so I went with the reverse way up!!

The waterfall area I stuck with hiking in the river bed and it was ok some slick moves around some huge boulders though. It took me 1 1/2 hours to get through the area.

Thursday night there was a brief heavy rain that lasted about 20 minutes. Was worried the next morning of a higher river flow and lucky it was unchanged.

From the confluence of Buckskin it took me 3 hours to get to the White House Trailhead and arrived at 5 p.m. on Friday evening April 23rd.

Both Thursday and Friday temps were in the 60's with an overcast sky.

Bartered a ride to Lee's Ferry for $80.00 LOL!!! I thought none of the shuttle services would do a short notice so I asked people in the trailhead parking lot.

Going from Lee's Ferry to the White House was a nice choice and it was neat to get a different view of things this way. Great trip!!
