Two Horizon High School students were rescued Wednesday afternoon from the McDowell Mountain Preserve with no reported injuries, the Scottsdale police said.
DPS Air Unit, Scottsdale Fire, and the Scottsdale’s Parks and Preserve Unit were dispatched to the Lost Dog Wash this afternoon in response to a report that two students got separated from their group as they were out on a school field trip. The pair used their cell phone to call for help.
The missing hikers were found safe after a one hour search near the Lost Dog and Sunrise Trails (about ¼ mile northeast of 124th Street and Via Linda), according to police report.
