Landscaper Hospitalized After Bee Attack

A landscaper working in Scottsdale was taken to the hospital Wednesday after being attacked by an angry swarm of bees.

Scottsdale Fire crews were dispatched at 9:50 a.m. to a report of a landscaper stung by multiple bees in the 8300 block of East Heatherbrae Avenue (near Granite Reef & Indian School). Upon arrival, firefighters located a large hive in a pine tree and treated three patients for bee stings. One person was transported to a local hospital. Injuries are not believed to be serious.

Residents and/or businesses with bees on their property should contact a bee keeper or bee removal company. The Scottsdale Fire Department will not remove bees unless there is an imminent danger to a person or active attack in progress.
