Mountain Rescue - 23000 N 128th Street - McDowell Mountains

Mountain rescue reported in the 23000 block of North 128th Street in Scottsdale, AZ.

Units on scene include: E45 E610 E614 P-610 C957N C957S BC2 BC602 FRBD10 S610 SCTP00.

[Update: 9:30 PM] Scottsdale Fire Department, Scottsdale Police, MCSO, Phoenix Fire are currently assisting a mother and daughter out Scottsdale’s McDowell Mountain Preserve. The mother called 911, by cell phone, and reported her and her daughter were lost near Tom’s Thumb at 5:30 PM this evening. Scottsdale FD, with assistance from MCSO’s Fox3 helicopter, located the hikers at 8:30 PM. No injuries have been reported. The couple are expected to be off the trail within 30 minutes from now.

Scottsdale FD reminds hikers to wear appropriate clothing, and prepare for the unexpected by bringing a fully charged cell phone, flashlight, and plenty of water.
