I solo hiked the canyon in late April. Whitehouse Trailhead to Lees Ferry. There was some damage in the narrows before the confluence- noticed spray paint on side of canyon with some sort of message. Told the ranger station not sure if it was removed.
The high water trail should be called "up and over the mountain trail" lol!!! I think the river route would be quicker?
My pack was loaded with rain/snow gear since at the time there was cold weather and rain - didnt need them at all in fact the lower canyon was in the mid to upper 80's.
All The lower canyon camping spots 15 or so miles from the Colorado River had red ants!!
